Dr. Shrestha is working as UNIGIS Programme Coordinator at Kathmandu Forestry College, Kathmandu Nepal. He has done his PhD in Environment Science in 2015 from Kathmandu University, Nepal. His areas of doctorate is quantification of land use change, forest carbon and soil organic carbon and its relation to the climate change and livelihood of the people. He has also expertise on forestry practices and application of geospatial technologies in the natural resource management. He has wide experience working on the GIS and Remote sensing applications in forestry sector. He has published number of journal articles related to his competency on the GIScience and Forestry Science and their application in different fields. He has also exposure on the teaching learning, research and mentoring to the graduate and under graduate students. He is also competent on training and facilitation specifically on GIS/RS and its application in forestry sector. His areas of interest is GIS, Remote Sensing, MRV for REDD+, Biomass estimation, valuation and mapping of ecosystem services, climate change vulnerability and adaptation strategy, soil and forest carbon quantification.

Dr. Wen-Cheng Liu is currently working as Professor of Department of Civil and Disaster Prevention Engineering, National United University, Taiwan, and Deputy Director at Taiwan Typhoon and Flood Research Institute, National Applied Research Laboratories, Taipei, Taiwan. Dr. Liu completed his M. Eng and PhD from National Taiwan University, Taiwan, He has vast experience in different areas of hydraulic, Hydrology, Environmental Fluid Mechanics, Environmental Engineering and Science, Numerical Modelling, etc. He has published more than 160 papers national and international peer-reviewed journals from different journals of Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, etc. Dr. Liu won many awards from University, national and international. Dr. Liu has the experience on collaborative research project with USA, UK, Japan. He is editorial board member of four International Journals. He has supervised 5 doctoral students. His area of specialization includes Ecohydraulic, Hydrology, Environmental Fluid Mechanics, Numerical Modelling, Limnology and Oceanography, Surface Water Modelling.

Chong Xu, Research Professor in National Institute of Natural Hazards, Ministry of Emergency Management of China (former Institute of Crustal Dynamics, China Earthquake Administration) from July 2019 to present and formerly worked at Institute of Geology, China Earthquake Administration. He got his Ph.D. at Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2010. His research interests include earthquake-triggered landslides, rainfall-induced landslides, and geological hazards using GIS, remote sensing, and statistical analysis techniques. By virtue of the study of earthquake-triggered landslides over 10 years, he has obtained a series of scientific research achievements of this subject, including database construction and criteria of earthquake-triggered landslides, quantitative description of landslide distribution, addressing issues of earthquake geology, landslide volume modeling, and hazard assessment. He chaired three NSFC projects (Youth, General, and International Joint Research) and two sub-projects of National Key R&D Program of China. He has published more than 200 papers with about 6000 citations. His research achievements, mainly on landslides triggered by recent large earthquakes, have been extended to about 50 research institutes and universities worldwide and are adopted directly by more than 100 research teams, significantly elevating the international status of China in the international community of seismic landslide research. He won several awards, such as “the Outstanding Young Scientist Award” in 2019 from ICGDR and “the 15th Youth Geological Science and Technology Award: Silver Hammer Award” in 2015 from Geological Society of China. His current work focuses on earthquake-triggered landslides on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the Loess Plateau, fault mechanisms, real probability models, risk assessments and zonation of earthquake-triggered landslides.

Anthony R. Lupo is a Research Fellow at the Independent Institute and Professor of Atmospheric Science and Principal Investigator of the Global Climate Change Group in the School of Natural Resources at the University of Missouri (MU). He received his PhD in atmosphere science from Purdue University, and he has been a Member of the Working Groups I and III for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Research Scholar at the Belgorod University in Russia, Fulbright Research Scholar at the Russian Academy of Sciences, Associate Editor of the Monthly Weather Review, and Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University at Albany. Arjun Bahadur Chhetri : A Ph.D. Candidate in Sustainable Energy Development in Civil and Resource Engineering at Dalhousie University, Canada, Mr. Chhetri is a prolific researcher and writer. He received his Master of Engineering in Energy Technology from Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand in 1997. Later on, he worked as an Energy Advisor for UNDP Rural Energy Development Programme in Nepal in 1998-1999. Mr. Chhetri also served several years as a Polytechnic Division Coordinator in Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training for policy formulation and management for the extension program. He also worked as Country Director of Center for Humanitarian Outreach and Intercultural Exchange, USA for Nepal (2002-2004). Mr.Chhetri also served as a lecturer in Tribhuwan University in Nepal (1997-2004). He is the author of three books and three dozens of International Peer reviewed Journals and Conference publications. His research interests are in green technology development, decentralized energy and environment management, global warming, and climate change.
